FareAnalyzer runs a large batch of air searches
at one time. Each search is configured to return
the lowest available airfares:
- from multiple departures
- to multiple destinations
- under various advance purchase scenarios
( walk-up, 7-day advance, 14-day advance, etc)
or specific dates
- with whatever restrictions are required
(number of stops, carriers, class of service)
The FareAnalyzer search is
run using a Worldspan Tier 3 PowerShopper search
- one of the broadest available airfare search
algorithms. This search returns up to 100 available
low fare flights for each city pair requested.
FareAnalyzer selects the lowest of these fares
and stores it, along with pertinent information
in a database.

There are two ways to use FareAnalyzer
power search capabilities:
- To run pre-scheduled
airfare comparisons at regular intervals,
over and over
- Ad hoc searches - run
whenever you feel like it.

This type of search is useful for organizations
like airports that need to track airfares on
a regular basis throughout the year. A common
application is something like this:
Find the lowest currently available airfare:
- From my airport and from my two neighboring
airports
- To each of my top 40 destinations
- Under these purchase scenarios: walk-up,
7-day advance and 14-day advance
- Run this search once per week every Monday
morning and store the results in a database
for reporting and analysis
All reports are available online
at any time after they are run. All reports are
downloadable and can be viewed at any time.

Another benefit of the pre-scheduled airfare
search is that the results can be automatically
loaded to a web site of your choice. If you
use a TravWell booking engine on your web site,
all reports can be hyperlinked to the booking
engine. These web reports can be customized
to fit with the look and feel of your web site.

web site, or another web site.

to your web site each week.
This type of search is most
useful for meeting planners, group travel departments,
and others that need to estimate airfares for
many travelers to one or more destinations.
The ad hoc search gets constructed on a simple
web form that looks
like this. After your search is run, you
can view the results in the form of an "airfare"
budget that can be downloaded or saved. All of these reports can
be saved to be rerun or modified as necessary.
Imagine producing a rough airfare budget for
a meeting with 250 travelers, coming from 26
different cities. Using the ad hoc search, this
can be accomplished in minutes. Furthermore,
once you get your results, you can rerun the
report and compare to alternative destination
cities.
